By Tonya Hand August 24, 2023

A 10-minute morning routine that you can follow to start your day off on the right foot.

1. Stretching (2 minutes): Begin your morning routine with a gentle stretching session. Focus on loosening up your muscles and increasing blood flow. Stretch your arms, legs, neck, and back to wake up your body.

2. Mindful Breathing (2 minutes): Find a quiet spot and practice deep breathing or mindfulness meditation. Inhale deeply through your nose for a count of 4, hold your breath for 4 counts, and exhale slowly through your mouth for 6 counts. Repeat this a few times to center your mind and reduce stress.

3. Hydration (1 minute): Drink a glass of water to rehydrate your body after hours of sleep. This kickstarts your metabolism and helps with digestion.

4. Gratitude Journaling (2 minutes): Take a moment to jot down a few things you're grateful for. Practicing gratitude can boost your mood and set a positive tone for the day.

5. MIT Planning (2 minutes): Identify your Most Important Task (MIT) for the day. Write it down or mentally prepare yourself to tackle it first. This sets your priorities and helps you stay focused.

6. Quick Personal Care (1 minute): Spend a minute on basic personal care such as washing your face, brushing your teeth, and making your bed. These small tasks help you feel more awake and organized.

7. Positive Affirmations (1 minute): Repeat a few positive affirmations to yourself. These can be statements that uplift and motivate you for the day ahead.

8. Visualize Success (1 minute): Close your eyes and spend a minute visualizing yourself successfully completing your tasks for the day. Imagine yourself feeling accomplished and satisfied.

9. Review Schedule (1 minute): Take a quick look at your schedule for the day. Mentally prepare for any meetings, appointments, or important tasks.

10. Smile and Set Intentions (1 minute): End your routine with a smile. Set positive intentions for the day, such as staying focused, staying calm under pressure, or maintaining a positive attitude.

Remember, the key to a successful morning routine is consistency. Even in just 10 minutes, you can set the tone for a productive and positive day ahead. Feel free to adjust the activities based on your preferences and needs.
